Daniel 2:20-22
20 and said:
"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.
21 He changes times and seasons;
he sets up kings and deposes them.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.
22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.

Mike’s Thoughts
It’s pretty sobering to think that all the wisdom that we have is simply a reflection of God’s wisdom. All that we have is from God and so it makes sense that all wisdom that we would find in any situation is only found by God, and can only be given by God. Tozer defines wisdom as “the ability to devise perfect ends and to achieve those ends by the most perfect means.” God definitely knows the best way anything could be done and the great thing is, is that he made it known to us in the Bible! How cool that God has let us in on so many sweet secrets to help us live the best life that we possibly can!
You guys know that I love processes and formulas and efficiency and strategy. I really do love that quality about myself even if it drives my wife nuts. I think I am pretty good at those things too and I think that it’s pretty beneficial for the most part to people. But what is anything that I do that involves wisdom without God? What if I were to come up with this great strategy for reaching the campus and read all the latest books on doing that and worked my butt off to make it happen if I didn’t ask God for wisdom? What if I was trying to make a decision for my career and didn’t lean upon and abide in Christ for wisdom? What if I try to do anything contrary to the way that God tells us to do so in the Bible. Some of these things might produce some good results, but until I’ve depended and looked to God for wisdom, and been obedient to follow it, they’ll never be as good as they could be. God made Christ wisdom for us and Christ gave us the Spirit to live inside of us to give us that wisdom, so let’s look to him as the God of all wisdom who has the perfect plan for everything in our lives.
